VitaminDaily.com is an online lifestyle magazine with a group of six free, savvy, online e-newsletters in major Canadian cities that target educated, affluent women who are starved for time and hungry for information.
The company was founded in 2004 by Sarah Bancroft, who continues to act as Editor-in-chief, and Tara Parker Tait. After several years of success in the Vancouver digital publishing market, the company launched a national Moms + Kids edition and went on to launch in Toronto, Calgary and Montreal (English and French language). Today, the company continues to be based in Vancouver with a team of journalists and bloggers in each of its city markets. With elevated editorial standards, VitaminDaily.com has become a go-to source of information for Canada's most influential women. As the readership has grown exponentially, so has the reach of the e-newsletters and website.
Capitalizing on its growing reach and influence, VitaminDaily.com was able to use ad revenue and outside investment for a major site redesign and relaunch in 2008, as well as setting up a bricks and mortar office and hiring a sales and marketing team. Since 2008, VitaminDaily.com has worked with some of the biggest brands in the world to create advertorial that is both effective and engaging, building key relationships with major advertisers and agencies.
In 2010, VitaminDaily.com won Best Website and Best Design at the Canadian Online Publishing Awards.
While the subscription base continued to grow and web traffic continued to uptick, VitaminDaily.com launched a series of mobile apps in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal (2011) to complement its strong social media presence, as well as an e-commerce business unit, Vitamin Daily Deals.
In 2012, VitaminDaily.com entered into syndication agreements with The Canadian Press, Huffington Post and Playtaxi Media across the country. In April 2012, Report on Business magazine named the company one of nine "New Media Allstars."
In 2013, VitaminDaily.com was acquired by Glacier Media Group. VitaminDaily.com chose to partner with Glacier Media Group as we see them as a forward thinking and entrepreneurial company that shares many of our core values. VitaminDaily.com joins GMG’s substantial holdings in both print and digital media, which include Social Shopper, Business in Vancouver, The Vancouver Courier and The North Shore News. This new partnership will allow VitaminDaily.com to leverage and accelerate subscriber growth on a much larger scale.
VitaminDaily.com continues to stand by its TRUE editorial mandate (Trusted, Remarkable, Unmistakable, Essential) and aims to be in the inbox of every woman who wants to be in the know. It is growing at a rate of 125% a quarter, working with the most sought-after brands in the world, continuing to champion local artisans and retailers and providing an abundance of work to journalists, writers and bloggers across the country.
