Let the Cat out of the Bag
Her collection of vintage frocks and baubles attracts Toronto's top stylists and designers and her window displays are known to stop traffic. It’s no surprise then that The Cat's Meow Louise Cooper’s blog is an attention-grabber too.
With tips, trends and the latest additions to her store, this vintage portal is a fun place to escape to while dining al desko. Have a look at me wearing full-length vintage Valentino skirt in Cooper’s Out and About section.

Top 5: Music Blogs
Other than style blogs, music blogs may be some of our favourite procrastination enablers. We’d thought we share our top five with you.
Named after a heartbreaker in The Wonder Years, Vancouver darlings Winnie Cooper stay on top of the hippest and freshest things happening in music. Put on your dancing shoes for their DJ nights across town. If you are searching for your next playlist, look no further than famed Vancouver DJ U-Tern. He posts his original mixtapes and remixes on his blog, One Day Later. They are true gems.
The granddaddy of all music blogs, Pitchfork has a comprehensive online library of record reviews and top 50 lists of the past ten years. Check out their Forkcast for exclusive interviews.
Every hipster’s favourite blog, Gorilla vs. Bear, reports on the latest in indie music. Whatever is new, they get it first. And they’ll even let you have a listen!
The Rub is a renowned DJ crew that have been ruling the NYC party scene for years. Their blog, It's the Rub, shows that they’re not just your regular party machine, but true hip-hop aficionados. They’ve put together a series of “History of Hip-Hop” mixes for each year in the genre’s past, since its birth in 1979. That’s a lot of music.

Work it like Wearstler
From the outside, it looks like the glamourous Kelly Wearstler leads a charmed life.
From the inside, it does too. The interior designer, best known for transforming the world's coolest spaces (think BG at Bergdorf Goodman and the Viceroy Palm Springs), has just launched a blog. My Vibe, My Life gives us a peek into Wearstler’s creative process as she embarks on her designs, which now include a forthcoming jewellery line and ready to wear collection.Suddenly, we’re hoping Kelly Wearstler will not only design us a closet, but fill it too. —KD

Coveting the Coveted
As fashion filles we envied Cher Horowitz’s closet in Clueless, as designer dames, we’d like to walk away with the wardrobe of Joanna Hillman from Harper’s Bazaar.
We can’t steal it, but we can steal a few glances, thanks to new website The Coveted, the creation of Toronto t-shirt maven Erin Kleinberg and her pal Stephanie Mark. Like The Selby, but solely focused on the fashion held within homes of the stylish, the site has already shot the clothing racks and shoe stacks of Teen Vogue, W, FLARE, ELLE staffers and Holt Renfrew’s creative director, John Gerhardt. We’re not coming out of the closet.

Bar Stool Bible
If you’re aiming to put yourself out there more this year (or just looking for another guilty pleasure), let us introduce you to your new nightlife gurus.
“SA” and “WT” are two anonymous Vancouver gals kissing and telling, with a few life lessons thrown in, on the blog Tales From A Bar Stool. Every week they recount their real run-ins with men, and provide take-away tips for both sexes looking to better their bar game, like “Give everything a second chance, but never a third.”
Even if you aren’t on the market, it’s a juicy read.August 6th, 2010

WHERE IN THE WORLD?
We may be tad jealous that our jet-set publisher Tara Parker Tait is traipsing through Asia right now, but she’s been kind enough to fill us in our her adventures via our new Editors’ Diary. Complete with candid pictures, insider Tokyo shopping tips and Hong Kong foodie favourites, you’ll be dialing your travel agent before lunch.
And while Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray got Lost in Translation at the famed Park Hyatt Tokyo Hotel, Tara seems to be adjusting to the luxe life just fine.
