the hair down there

Readers have begun to write in to request guidance in that most daunting of territories, laser hair removal on the bikini line. As luck would have it, we've got the insider goods.

Herewith, our laser do's and don'ts:

DO: start now. The process takes about seven sessions, spaced about three weeks apart.

DON'T: be worried that your hair is too dark or thick. Laser targets pigment, so it works better on course hair types (sorry, blondies!).

DO: save your money. At an average of $200 per session, it's not cheap. But what price can you put on never having ingrown hairs again?

DON'T: expose the area to sun. It could scar, and a reputable technician won't work on tanned skin.

DO: have your big toe, underarms, and treasure trail zapped at the same time. You've come all the way there, taken off all your clothes, and believe us, you don't want to go through all this again.

DON'T: Be stoic. Take an extra-strength Tylenol (or a stiff shot) 30 minutes before. It hurts like hell.

DO: Take the plunge. You won't regret it.

DON'T: fire your waxer - bikini laser stops at the crease, so you may choose the have the rest cleaned up via wax.

DO: visit local maker www.cuchebikinis.ca to choose your reward.
