Boutique Bijoux
We fell in love with Charlotte Hosten’s fabric-mounted mixed-media jewellery the moment we saw the stunning handmade pieces merging vintage beads, crystals, and fabric remnants in her signature style.
Now Hosten has a space to call her own, in her new Mile End boutique and atelier (you can peek through the curtains to see necklaces-in-progress in the back. The fresh, pretty space is filled with the designer’s creations as well as her personal coups de coeur. We’re lusting after the Moscow necklace (shown: $240) featuring silk, semi-precious stones and metal and the Enchanted Alaska necklace ($175) festooned with vintage rings. Hosten’s faves? A sweet Prairie Clutch ($362) made in South Africa, hand-knit scarves ($99) from the U.S. and a pair of Harricana earmuffs ($89).

Electro Accessories
We regularly use music as inspiration. A great tune will rev up our run or get us pumped for a party.
Jewellery designer, Morgan Mallett, went further and created an electro-pop playlist to inspire her latest collection of edgy, architectural accessories for Design & Conquer’s new Electro collection. Created using lightweight plastic polymers, each piece is inspired by a specific song from her playlist. We loved the neon pink accents of the Racer earrings ($45), inspired by Summer Heart’s remix of Work Drug’s "Rad Racer," and the Arsonist cuff ($249) inspired by André Obin’s "The Arsonist".
Now that’s some jewellery we can really dance to. —Jennifer Nachshen

Go Bling or Go Home
Big statement pieces can be sweaty in the summer, so when we want to both feel and look cool, we wear bling made from natural materials.
The leather in Luxetto’s wrapped wristlets is so soft you’ll barely know you’re wearing it. But people will definitely notice the beautiful bracelets from the custom-made jewellery line. We swooned over the Ruby ($139) in taupe leather studded with gold-plated beads as well as the Rocco ($149) in a Hermès-esque shade of orange. We’re wrapped with attention. —JN

A Modest Proposal
After watching the royal wedding many of our girlfriends are waiting on their prince for a ring of their own. But how can he possibly beat a proposal in Africa with an 18-karat sapphire sparkler?
The Place d’Armes Hotel and Birks have teamed up for the Dazzling Marriage Proposal package ($11,000) that includes two nights in a petal-strewn penthouse suite (appointed with a bottle of Moët & Chandon, a bouquet of roses and chocolate dipped strawberries), a six-course dinner with wine pairings at Aix Cuisine du Terroir, and a couples massage at Rainspa. Oh, did we mention that the Amorique diamond ring is included (value of $10,000, with option to upgrade)? The only question left for him to answer is how and when he’ll slip that sparkler on your finger.BTW, we wouldn’t blame you at all if you happened to accidentally forward this email to your special guy.

Bubbles and Baubles
Somehow we can’t imagine Katy Perry and Blake Lively oohing and ahhing together over champagne at a Tupperware party. But change the word “Tupperware” to “Bling” and we’re hoping we’ll be invited.
Both Katy and Blake are customers of Lia Sophia, a direct sales costume jewellery company that has now launched in Quebec. We can picture Blake wearing these elegant earrings with her Chanel duds, and Katy sporting this nautical necklace ($39) with one of her pin-up worthy outfits. But we’ll scout the red carpet line for some bolder items, like this cuff bracelet ($440). Because it would be totally awkward if we all showed up wearing the same bracelet.

The Family Jewels
We were born to wear bling, but Ariane Arazi was born to design it.
Carrying on the tradition of her grandfather who founded Hasbani Gioielli in Milan, Italy over 50 years ago, Montreal-based Ariane creates beautiful affordable luxury pieces like the black Tassel Necklace featuring faceted Onyx stones ($370). We loved the retro-modern Swarovski and cherry quartz earrings ($400) to go with an LBD and the stackable rings for every day ($320). Best of all, each piece is made to order. So you can sparkle in your own unique way.

Cuffs for a Cause
It’s important to us to show our support for causes we believe in.
Now we can match our ethics to our outfits with Défi Canderel’s Good Luck bracelet designed by Clio Blue. Whether you get the sporty cotton-rope version ($75) or the elegant silver-dipped link bracelet ($185), you know the proceeds will go to a good cause. We’re happy to help. The Good Shop Lollipops
We love shopping in Paris! Especially when we can do it from the comfort of our office in Montreal.
Lollipops Paris recently launched an online store for Canadians to purchase their chic and whimsical bags, shoes, wallets and jewellery from home. We have our eye on the glam rock Jiamonds High Boots, the adorable Jhot purse and the quirky-cute Japple bangle. Sweet as candy!
