Egg Hunt Winners
Good news: A new study shows a link between frequent chocolate consumption and lower body mass index.
We think this is some pretty sweet information (with impeccable timing), so let’s have it, Easter Bunny: Macarons from Point G, cupcakes from D Liche, chocolate from Le Maître Chocolatier and, yes, Mini Eggs from WalMart. Not sold on the health benefits of the sweet stuff? Fine, just to be safe, let’s throw a handful of Eos Smooth Spheres ($3.99 each) into the basket. They’re yummy, calorie-free, moisturizing and too cute in their egg-like package. —Christine Laroche

Chic chocolat
Chocoholics unite at Marché Bonsercours this weekend.
Forget the grocery store’s tacky, red tin foil aisle: The Je t’aime en Chocolat event is the perfect place to source some luxe sweets to share with loved ones Valentine’s Day next week. (Or stash in the emergency stockpile – our little secret!)
And because we’re always craving a fashion fix, we’ll stick around until 4:30 p.m. to see the work of chocolatiers and designers (including Dinh Ba and Ralph Leroy) walk down the runway.

Chocolate Superhero
After we plundered our niece’s Halloween loot, we thought we’d reached the limit of chocolate decadence. But then we discovered a new level of indulgence. And we don’t feel even a little bit guilty about it.
There’s a skip in our step since we discovered that UK’s Green & Black’s organic chocolate bars ($3.89 each) are finally being sold in Montreal. We happily taste-tested ten treats, including the rich dark, creamy milk, and buttery white bars, and fell head-over-heels for the Dark Chocolate Mint (think, an elevated After Eight) and the delicious milk chocolate and butterscotch combination that would make a Skor bar green with envy. We loved that the Maya Gold, a dark chocolate bar flavoured with orange and spices, is the first ever product to be awarded the Fair Trade Mark. In fact, Green & Black Organic is working to achieve Fair Trade Certification for all its chocolatey treats.

cocoa craving
The days of gingerbread and eggnog might be over, but that doesn’t mean that we’re ignoring our sweet tooth.
When a craving hits, we’re dashing to Chocolats de Chloé for decadent handmade delights made from Valrhona chocolate. A box of six squares ($11) is the perfect after-dinner treat (be sure to include the fig and balsamic and citrusy lime). If we’re lingering in the new shop, we’ll also grab a spicy hot chocolate made with cinnamon and cayenne topped with homemade marshmallows ($2.75).Life is sweet.

CHOCOPURIST
Tonight, while the kids are eating stale candy corn, we’ll be indulging in gourmet goodies from Cocoa Delices.
This chic new spot serves up to-die-for “statement” chocolates in over 60 flavors. Inspired by their travels across Europe, the chocoholic owners produce only 1kg of each kind so freshness is preserved.
Our favorites include the Rose Rouge with red rose oil and raspberry, the Sesame-Dipped Truffle, and the heavenly Sel et Poivre made from salted caramel and peppered dark chocolate ganache.
Isn’t being a grown-up great?
