LONG LIVE YSL
If you’re as saddened as we are about the passing of fashion great Yves Saint Laurent, find comfort at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
A retrospective of the designer’s work features 145 accessorized creations that span an impressive 40-year career. We were struck by the timelessness of Saint Laurent’s designs, most of which wouldn’t be out of place on the current pages of Vogue: Mondrian cocktail dresses c. 1965, a satin Norman blouse c. 1962 and the original grain de poudre dress worn by Catherine Deneuve in Belle de jour (1967).
Adieu M. Saint Laurent, you will be missed.

Explore your inner Diane Arbus at Montréal’s annual photo festival.
All this month the city is awash with beautiful pictures at the 10th edition of Le Mois de La Photo. Photographers from Canada, the United States, South America and Asia will be represented in 30 exhibits around the city.
We’re captivated by the works of Montreal’s own brothers-in-art, Carlos and Jason Sanchez. Their hyper-real photos on display at the Parisian Laundry are like stills from meticulously art-directed film sets.
All exhibits are free of charge.
