A Modest Proposal
After watching the royal wedding many of our girlfriends are waiting on their prince for a ring of their own. But how can he possibly beat a proposal in Africa with an 18-karat sapphire sparkler?
The Place d’Armes Hotel and Birks have teamed up for the Dazzling Marriage Proposal package ($11,000) that includes two nights in a petal-strewn penthouse suite (appointed with a bottle of Moët & Chandon, a bouquet of roses and chocolate dipped strawberries), a six-course dinner with wine pairings at Aix Cuisine du Terroir, and a couples massage at Rainspa. Oh, did we mention that the Amorique diamond ring is included (value of $10,000, with option to upgrade)? The only question left for him to answer is how and when he’ll slip that sparkler on your finger.BTW, we wouldn’t blame you at all if you happened to accidentally forward this email to your special guy.

Have a Heart
She won our hearts at the 2010 Winter Olympics, and now she’s doing her best to save the hearts of women everywhere.
Joannie Rochette recently unveiled her new sterling silver heart necklace ($150) in collaboration with BIRKS. Proceeds from the pendant, a modern twist on the heart shape incorporating loops and swirls evocative of Joannie’s dazzling spins, will be going to the iheartmom campaign to raise awareness of heart disease in women. We heart you too, Joannie.

Tea and Tiaras
There’s nothing like receiving a Birks box to make a girl feel like royalty. Add sweet treats for a combination that will win our hearts.
We stopped in at Birks Café par Europea for an afternoon tea ($26.50) fit for the Queen of England. Dining on Birks own china and glassware, we started with scones, fresh baked and smothered with Devonshire cream and preserves, dainty cucumber-shrimp and smoked salmon finger sandwiches, and finished with a melting macaron. Then it was just a short trip down the stairs to pick out our tiara.
