What Lies Beneath
Cleanse your palate of blockbuster action movies and sweet rom coms with the unconventional indie films presented at the Calgary Underground Film Festival.
From April 16 to 22 programming spans genres from a Saturday morning cartoon party complete with sugary cereal to a dark comedy about a gunman targeting reality stars. Zombies, werewolves and a morally conflicted 10-year-old all have starring roles. And, cult favourite filmmaker John Waters will riff on his debauched career during his one-man show.
We can go back to flicks about fairytales and our favourite YA books next week. This week we go underground. —Jaelyn Molyneux
