Stars of India

Wild sense of colour, print and plenty of adornment is how someone might describe Indian fashion. Two young designers are giving their heritage a modern spin by honing an aesthetic that mixes east and west.

Nor Black Nor White is a beautiful blend of Amrit Kumar and Mriga Kapadiya’s Indo-Canadian culture (the girls are based between Bombay and Toronto). From a backless banana yellow sundress to a Satsuma orange shirt to boldly printed Ali Baba pants, this collection pops with print and colour. It also pays homage to traditional Indian techniques such as bandhani khatri, the process of hand-dying fabric.

There isn’t a single piece in the line that we’re not lusting after. Nor black, nor white – but every colour in between.
