Roller Queens
Move over Drew and Juno (ah, we mean Bliss), Calgary’s B52 Bellas and the Thrashin’ Lassies are going to “Whip It” this Saturday.
The Calgary Roller Derby Association’s Summer Smackdown presents a bout between the kilt-wearing lassies, who say their secret weapon is their thick Scottish accent, and the “highly-trained corps of fighters” (a.k.a. The B-52 Bellas). Cheer the ladies on to victory and learn more about “blockers,” “jammers,” and “pivots.”
The association is always looking for new members so maybe it’s time to lace-up.
