Plan au Chocolat
Ever since we spent every morning of our European sojourn at cafés sipping cappuccino and nibbling flaky, light croissants, we’ve been searching for a substitute in closer proximity that satisfies our high standards. And now, it Haas been found.
Thomas Haas, master pastry chef and North Shore favourite, has opened a new patisserie in Kits. Right next door to another decadence, Lumiere restaurant, the spacious spot features a chocolate-coloured marble countertop (that looks good enough to eat), chic bistro tables, and a honeycomb-shaped ceiling. But the real stars are his dependably delicious pastries and desserts, and the pain au chocolat ($2.75) is a little piece of Paris on a plate.
Open Tuesday through Saturday at 8 a.m., we suggest you make a plan to hold all your morning meetings there for the rest of the week.
