The jury is still out on whether old school tomes will give way to sleek word screens. But at the new Shelf Life Books, the classic is far from its expiration date.

The 3,500-square-foot independent bookstore is an unassuming space with a well-edited collection of page-turners. Large tables and chairs are set up throughout the store where bookworms can comfortably flip through their picks. In addition to some well-known titles, the owners are concentrating on new literary books and also have an impressive collection of graphic novels, poetry titles and plenty of fiction.
