Fresh Wood

Among the mostly-vintage shops of Dundas West, there's one full of brand-new things to love.

Woodlawn, a boys-and-girlswear boutique, imports cult and heritage labels from all over—Brooklyn, Florence, London—but feels distinctly Canadian. There's a homespun vibe to the wears; the shop itself feels cottage-y, vaguely authentic. You can buy sweet-'n'-fresh dresses, unisex sunnies and sharp patent oxfords at any indie shop, but here the labels are unexpected: Family Affairs, Han Kjobenhavn, and Industry of All Nations, respectively. Bright espadrilles and rope-handled totes are beach-ready, and for the menfolk, I recommend a YMC raincoat and a WeWood (no, really it's wood) watch. —SNP
