Drugstore Divas
In a recent GOOP newsletter, Gwyneth proclaimed that some of the “absolute best beauty products” she’s found come from regular French pharmacies. Of course, Gwynnie, we’ve been shopping our pharmacy forever. Herewith, five items that we can’t live without:
Calgary-based brand George’s Special Dry Skin Cream was especially formulated for our dry winters. The 450g-tub ($17.49) will last you through many a cold snap. At Shoppers Drug Mart, www.shoppersdrugmart.ca
After a long day, or a hard workout, Life Brand Epsom Salts come to the rescue. We like to buy in bulk ($6.99 for 2kg) and then pour some of the salts into a pretty glass container that sits on the edge of the tub while the rest is tucked away in a bathroom cupboard. At Shoppers Drug Mart, www.shoppersdrugmart.ca
Klorane’s dry shampoo is a cult favourite but the brand’s gentle Golden Highlights Shampoo with Chamomile Extract ($8.99) is also on our must-have list. At London Drugs, www.londondrugs.com
Long-time devotees of Avène can add another one to the list. The new Tolérance Extrême Cream ($35.50) is formulated for allergy-prone skin types and those seriously deprived of moisture. At Shoppers Drug Mart, www.shoppersdrugmart.ca
Others have come and gone but our love for the little pink and green tube has survived through thick and thin—lashes, that is. Maybelline’s Great Lash Big Mascara ($6.99) is a classic. At London Drugs, www.londondrugs.com
