Beach Babe Wave
We adore wavy hair but no amount of salt spray ever coaxed our straight strands into coils.
Enter the brilliant Véronique Beaupré of Local B. who, as an avid surfer and 2012’s Canadian and Quebec Stylist of the Year, knows a thing or two about a beachy look.
The hottest service in her salon for summer is the BeachWave (from $200), a new-generation perm by L’Oréal Professionnel that re-texturizes hair.
Though the process is similar to an old school perm (yes, there are rollers involved!), it has been significantly improved since back-in the-day: Rollers are placed haphazardly (for a natural look), the smell is minimal (and after the treatment, non-existent) and results last up to 4 months (no awkward grow-out phase)!
Salt spray? None required. Perm? Not a dirty word anymore.—Christine Laroche
