Art Bar

When Charlie Irani’s gallery closed its doors, tongues wagged along Robert Street. What would replace the quirky art venue?

In its place came a café-cum-bar that even the crankiest of neighbours approves of. By day, Charlie’s Gallery (the new owners kept the name) serves up cappuccinos and panini, and by night, it’s cocktails all round.

Exposed brick walls and loungey banquettes give the space a warm, relaxed feel, while the ever-changing artwork is a nod to its predecessor.

We suggest a Van Gogh martini to kick off your own Starry Night.
