melancholic melodies
If we love a movie, it’s inevitable we love its soundtrack.
But after watching Amélie for the hundredth time, we realized we never bought the movie’s whimsical score.
Just like the box of childhood finds the heroine comes across in the film, some things are better discovered later in life. Like French musician Yann Tiersen who composed the soundtrack and has since released Les Retrouvailles
, an equally lovely collection of songs featuring Jane Birkin and Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins.
If only Mr. Tiersen could compose the soundtrack to our lives….
