    Seeing Red

The in-laws are coming for dinner and you’ve already served your famous lasagna. Twice. Save yourself from your mother-in-law’s critique with ready-to-go dishes from Red Tree.

Pair the organic quinoa patties ($4.95 each) and chickpea salad with red pepper vinaigrette ($4.95) as a first, and then serve the perfectly formed pasta bundles with turkey meat ($6.95) for the main.

What your mother-in-law doesn’t know can’t hurt you.

    Happy Eats

Happy Hour is customarily about the bevies, but with the newly revamped 3-8 p.m. menu at BLVD Lounge, we’re going early for the food.

The mini burgers tapas plate ($12) is the perfect trio of Kobe beef, ahi tuna, and lamb mini-patties, while the artichoke and rocket organic chicken flatbread ($12) soaks up those bevvies in no time. Served with bell peppers and beetroot tzatziki, the salt and pepper calamari ($9) is a new take on an old favourite, and since we do need something to sip on, we can’t pass up the half priced drinks especially when it’s the BLVD sangria (love the Malibu) or the Juneau with strawberries, lemon and basil cut with Grey Goose Le Citron and Chambord.

At this rate Happy Hour is sure to become plural.
