Baker's Half Dozen
If you’d rather sniff out a good Christmas treat than make one, follow your nose to the Baker’s Market.
Walk away with fine chocolates by My Chocolate Tree and Wendy Boys, cute cupcakes by Le Petit Cupcakery, gingerbread cookies from the Cookie Vonster or mini bundt cakes in a multitude of flavours (like lime coconut) by Miss Mandy. Vendors take special orders too, so we suggest letting the ladies of Yummy Baked Goods make you a holiday fruitcake worth serving.
With the baking out of the way, all that’s left is the shopping.
Baker’s Market, November 20 and 27, December 4 and 11; 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Creekside Community Recreation Centre in the Olympic Village,1 Athletes Way, Vancouver, www.bakersmarket.com

Clutch It
When things heat up, an oversized tote doesn’t exactly go well with that itsy-bitsy sundress. As the layers come off, pack lightly with an On the Town clutch by Calgary line FAWN.
A hit at this month’s Portobello West Market, the designer encourages custom-made orders (from USD$68) and will have one in your palm in less than two weeks. Made from Alberta cowhide (ostrich hide is also available) and lined with colourful canvas, the clutches come in a variety of shades and have a cell phone pocket, built-in keychain, a large zip pocket and a handy strap to slip the clutch on your wrist or belt.Because less really is more.

child's play
If you’re like us and all of your friends have simultaneously decided to procreate recently, there’s a lot of baby shopping to do this month.
And babies want one-of-a-kind gifts too so we’re stocking up on the onesies and T-shirts by Jenn Chic Designs. The photographer and former chef combined her two passions to create a line of T-shirts and baby wear adorned with images of produce and other edible goodies. Our pick is the onsie with a photo of a cabbage-you're very own cabbage patch kid.
