Rachel Zoe's Style Guide
Posted by Vitamin Daily at 3:33 pmAugust 14th, 2012
Uber-stylist (seriously, she's become more famous than some of her clients), mom, reality TV star, author and designer Rachel Zoe visited Holt Renfrew to show off her fall line.
As these things go, Zoe was impresively on time and took a quick minute to greet the media before heading out to the throng of screaming fashionistas eager to see her new collection.
Here's Zoe chatting with Holt Renfrew VP, Barb Atkins (wearing a purple jumpsuit from Zoe's new collection, natch).
As the models stylishly stomped the runway, Zoe talked about her incredible rise to fashion fame (she started off as junior assistant stylist and worked her way up) and she offered tips on how to get the most out wardrobe pieces (layer, layer, layer). Her number one piece of advice? Be kind!
Fall must-haves include the cape, a suit that can be worn as separate pieces and a jumpsuit. And that's how Zoe does it.
Find the collection in stores now at Holt Renfrew.

We vlogged our way through Kelowna wine country, and we’ve got plenty of amazing travel tips to share. From tastings to tours to cool heritage spots (oh, and did we mention tastings?), join us on our sippy trip through Okanagan’s lushest vineyard landscape.
Summer is a boom for Kelowna with over 25 wineries, 19 golf courses, over 30 beaches, great dining and patios, theatre, festivals and almost daily summer concerts in the parks and at the beaches… it’s like a mix of every dreamy vacation spot rolled into one fantastic place.
The most photographed wine trail in BC belongs to the popular Westside Wine Trail and it’s easy to see why. We visited Mission Hill Winery for some face-to-face time with one of BC’s most popular producers. Wait is that face-to-face, or face-to-glass?
Haven't had enough? Check out Part 3 for more of our Kelowna Wine Trails Series. For more information on the Kelowna Wine Trails: www.kelownawinetrails.com
The Westside Wine Trail includes: Mission Hill Family Estate, Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery, Volcanic Hills Estate Winery, Little Straw Vineyards, & Quails' Gate Winery
Heeling Power: Ferragamo's Amazing Shoe Collection
Posted by Vitamin Daily at 1:05 pmAugust 10th, 2012
Ferragamo recently reopened its luxurious Vancouver boutique, and it is a very sophisticated place to spend an afternoon.

We were there to check out Marilyn Monroe's soles, literally. For the first and only time in Canda, a reissued collection of Marily Monroe's favourite styles are on display. The simple, elegant pumps truly are timeless. Each pair of shoes are numbered, and when the limited-run is gone, it's gone.
And we couldn't resist a photo of the fabulousssssss Judy Garland-inspired platforms. Somewhere over the rainbow, darlings.

Yes, the store is elegant, but don't be intimdated by the chic exterior. The Ferragamo staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, so check out this rare shoe collection while you still can (it leaves town August 16).

Horses! Lake Country's Scenic Sip trail is lined with farmland, stables, horse pastures and stunning lakeviews. It’s right out of a romance novel (but with more booze, thank goodness). We stopped into Ex Nihilo Vineyards for swirly chat.

Coined the East Kelowna Fab Five, it’s easy to see why the wineries on this trail have such a cool rep. The farmland and orchards are perfect for a cycling wine tour (though instead of cycling, we sipped. Does that count?). We stop into hip winery The Vibrant Vine for a few minutes with some pretty cool dudes.

The Calgary Folk Music Festival is known for having incredible food vendors every year making breakfast, lunch and dinner a breeze. Of course, this was before food trucks were a big part of Calgary's street food community not to mention the countless hot new restaurants and take-out spots that have dotted our city like a wildfire.
I would love to share my top picks for dining during the festival here with you!
The Not-So-Healthy-But-Oh-So-Good Breakfast: Jelly Modern Donuts
The Keep-You-Coming-Back-For-More Coffee: Phil & Sebastian Coffee
The Super-Healthy-But-Totally-Addictive Lunch: The Onigiri Co
The Munchies: Spudmobeel + Sugar Creek Kettle Corn
The Let's-Eat-Some-Serious-Food: Ship and Anchor
The Smooth-and-Creamy-and-Refreshing Dessert: Fiasco Gelato
Enjoy!

Frizz-Ease Salon Tour hits Calgary
Posted by Kait Kucy at 3:48 pmJuly 24th, 2012
A couple of weeks ago, a portable salon pulled up onto the brick-laden path of Stephen Avenue. Inside, chockful with hairsprays, straightening irons and the absolute best of the best frizz-controlling products, was some of the country's favourite hair stylists. Hailing from Montreal, I had the opportunity to get a fabulously braided summer do with John Frieda's Alain Larivee.
We chatted about fishtail braids, french braids, braided crowns and beautiful beachy waves. Oh, and top knots too for those super humid days when you just need to get it all off your face.
Thanks for the great time! Can't wait to try out fishtails on my own!
