When Barbara Atkin tells us what's hot to trot, we sit up straight and we listen. Bright and early, Holt Renfrew's VP Fashion Direction hosted a room of media ladies for a fab overview of Fall 09. I met up with Vitamine du jour Editrice Elsa for a quick breakie before the frantic note-taking began.

Soho is so ho-hum - The Lower East Side has become THE place to be after dark in NYC. After rolling out of bed after a night of debauche, I headed over to Rivington Street for a vegan breakie at TeaNY. I finally made it to the tents at Nathan Phillips Square to catch Montreal designer Andy The-Ahn. There was barely one false note in his collection which he called The Bow & The Beautiful.

Anyone who thinks Sensation Mode was a see-and-be-seen circus, hasn't been to Toronto! Fashion Week kicked off here last night with a cocktail soiree at Holt Renfrew. I beamed with pride as Denis Gagnon presented his fall collection. Sequined leggings are so Montreal chic!

Lac-St-Jean native, Jerome C. Rousseau designs what I like to call "statement" shoes. His collection of sky-high strappies are not for the faint-of-foot. But, at a recent stop at Holts to launch his spring line, he told me he designs as much for comfort as for beauty: "They are as comfy a 4-inch heel as you will get".
