Kicking it with Kors

April 1st, 2010

Imagine my delight when I was invited to have breakfast with none other than Mr. Michael Kors, on his first trip to Montreal since launching his Canadian head office five years ago.

Hair and There

March 14th, 2010

While models got gussied-up back stage at Montreal Fashion Week, Rowenta set up a booth at the front of the house where frazzled editors could take pause and get pampered. Luigi from Spa Orazio walked me through Rowenta's new, professional-grade hair tools (dryer, flat-iron and our fave: The curling/flat-iron combo)

Daring Denis & Fashion Finale

March 4th, 2010

There's always a buzz in the air when Denis Gagnon is about to show. His PR team almost had to go into hiding when tickets ran out an hour before catwalk (the fashion media can be awfully scary when told no).

Barilà Babes

March 3rd, 2010

It was a party on the catwalk as the Barilà sisters presented their Glam-Glitz-Grunge collection at the end of fashion week's day trois.  Slouchy shorts were paired with combat boots, stripey tuxedo jackets and the odd electric guitar.

Float My Boat

March 1st, 2010

It was an unusual start to Fashion Week as menswear designer Philippe Dubuc unveiled his Fall/Winter 2010 collection on a 730-foot ship docked at the Quai Alexandria.

Only for Dubuc would a bunch of precious fashion journos climb a ladder like this (over a garbage-filled dumpster, no less)

A Cut Above

It's like Christmas, Halloween and Easter all rolled into one.  Each year Sephora (www.sephora.com) invites media-types to gorge on fine food and test new beauty products.

Fun in the Sun

January 6th, 2010

With Montreal weather in dark and dreary mode, I hopped a flight to Costa Rica's RIU Guanacaste resort for some five-star pampering.  Do I lie on the beach or by the pool? The tough decisions are endless.

London Love

December 23rd, 2009

With just a few hours to get my London fashion fix, I decided to forgo the Oxford Street masses and make a stop at the new Westfield Shopping Centre (www.westfield.com) in Shepherd's Bush.  Sprawled across 43 acres and with over 265 shops, it's the largest mall in Europe filled with some of my fave designers like Twenty8Twelve and Wolford.

Dress Experiment, Finale

November 19th, 2009

Stylist Raji and I came up with this little number over cups of tea at Em Cafe.  It was quite the spectacle: me with a brown dress over my jeans, Raji standing on a chair to see into the mirror.  But I digress...for this Day look, I've twisted the halter of The Dress several times to create a rope-effect.  Raji then had me breaking out the brooch to pin the straps together at the front.

Dress Experiment, Day 4

November 18th, 2009

For some reason this Day-look begged for a pair of specs, though I must admit the glasses aren't mine.  Following Raji's advice to "play with layers," I paired the brown Pamela with a crisp, white shirt. I call today's outfit: Librarian Chic.
