Invited to the Endive Gala at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, our first thought: Martin Margiela? Not possessing one of the reclusive Belgian designer's avant-garde ensembles we went casual-chic, all the better to complement the young and healthy crowd, like celeb chef Ned Bell, with this spray of the BC-grown vegetables. Note the light green colour—that's what you should look for.

And speaking of season-ing, his Edison's Medicine steak rub was our absolute fave of the night.

And you thought bidding wars were just for real estate. I just headed by the preview for Thursday night's art auction at the new Maynard's Auction House in support of Unicef. There are some amazing large scale contemporary photographs up for grabs and even a Graham Gilmore. Going once! Going twice!

I couldn't resist snapping these kids playing in the new submarine sculpture at the Olympic Village. Now that it's no longer locked down like Fort Knox, I suggest you take a stroll this weekend.
