I'm a huge fan of going local whenever I can, which is why I popped my head in nice and early for the "Street Couture Accessories: One Day Affair" event that was hosted above Toronto's Lavish & Squalor. 

One of my personal favourite jewellery designers (and local celebrity favourite), SOOS Rocks, was there showing their gorgeous new spring/summer collection. 

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with canisters of old-timey treats, women cooing over my baby Roxy, and jewels sparkling from every corner of the room.The rock/vintage shop vibe really added to the lust-worthiness of the lady frosting, and the music was pumpin.

SOOS is hunting for their new Cover Model, and were encouraging people to have their picture taken wearing their gear for consideration.

I was surprisingly taken with the men's/unisex pieces, and snagged some skull-laden necklaces, and black beaded bracelets for my main squeeze. 

For me? A pair of feather earrings, that SOOS designer Bryn Nihill said kept being mistaken for fur among the the fashion elite. The credit, Nihill says, goes to the use of her super-soft feathers. I'm dying to wear them...one at a time. A long feather earring in one ear = hot. Long feather earrings in both ears = not so hot. Just sayin'...

Before taking off, I made the lovely ladies and designers Jane Dallin and Bryn Nihill cuddle together for a picture.

By the end of it my wallet was empty, my baby had pooed, and my meter had expired...
