Loved up at the Thompson
June 22nd, 2010
I've had a soft spot for Thompson Hotels ever since I received a lovely marriage proposal in room 203 of the LES New York property (http://bit.ly/cKniw7). Now the first Canadian location has just popped up in Toronto. I VIA railed down the 401 for the festivities.
For more on the hotel, check out Vitamin Daily Toronto's fab round up at http://bit.ly/9AM0VP
Inside, staff from the hotel's 24-hour Boxcar diner passed out beer and burgers in a look that was oh-so-50s Geek Chic
The queue for the roof began forming with haste so we all stepped in-line to get a peek at the panoramic views of TO. But "No one is going Any. Where." (so said The Suit).
Despite my official No Waiting Policy, I waited. And waited (everyone knows that the lushest spot at any party is in the loo line). I never did see the infinity rooftop pool and 360 degree views but I did enjoy the pixies handing out Cosabella undies, Jessica Brownstein Mulroney doing walkabout with double baby-bump, and the intense fashion scrutiny.
Toronto scenesters can be a sea of matchy-designer looks, but these peeps stood out for their touches of originality. Don't you love her beaded aqua purse?
Gingham with checks? Don't knock it 'til you rock it.
An adorable mini-dress with gold belt worn by leggy Liz Walaszczyk from NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly
Verdict on the Thompson Toronto party? I do, I do, I do.
