Leafy Expedition
November 4th, 2009
I'm a city girl through and through, but I'll never turn down a fine invitation to travel. So when Joanne Papineau and the team at Fairmont Resorts (www.fairmont.com/tremblant) invited me to spend a weekend in Mont-Tremblant watching the leaves do their thing, I could hardly say no.
The hills were alive with color (and Japanese tourists with cameras)! A few of the keener media types decided to walk up the monstrous mountain. I went the lazy route.
From cheese fondue and charcuterie to lobster and stirfry shrimp, we ate like queens in a castle thanks to the Chef Daniel Tobien's new Windigo restaurant.
The best part of the weekend was without a doubt, a walk in the forest with Fairmont's Canine Ambassador, a yellow-lab named Gracie.
This is what happens when a city-loving, cat-person attempts soothing dog walks in the country. It seems sticks can solve all of life's woes.
