I'm on a Boat!

October 7th, 2011

I've never thought of myself as the cruising type. But after spending a little time on the two cruise liners that stopped into port last week, I'm re-thinking my plans. It would also go a long way toward gettingme the "I'm on a Boat" bagde on FourSquare.

First in was the Boréal, aluxurious liner that bills itself as the"boutique hotel" of boats. Offering a french flair, this 132-cabin ship offers highly personalized service.

I adored the comfortable and modern library.

And who could resist lying around this lovely pool?

The lunch was a divinely cooked piece of white fish covered in a tangy puttanesca sauce.

I started to think cruising might be for me after all.

Next up was the Silver Whisper ship from the Silversea Cruise line.  Geared toward an older, more refined traveller, the Silver Whiper was ultimate luxury (think, Bulgari soap in the bathroom).

On this ship, everything is included...even the alcohol! And dining al fresco on the  open seas is du rigeur!

Lunch was a four course experience that included this delightful crab and avocado dish.

I could definitely get used to this.
