Hunter Gatherer (for a good cause, of course)
December 10th, 2010
Remember that amazing game show Supermarket Sweep? Well, it's not as easy as it looks!
Whole Foods on Cambie & 8th hosted a foodie media scavenger hunt that brought out our philanthropic (and competative) side.
A list of 10 hard to find items (365 brand extra virgin olive oil, cookie crumble truffles, "lump of coal") was given, along with a shopping basket, and a do-good challenge: the first person to complete the hunt, with all the correct items, would win a massive food hamper donated in their name to the Food Bank.
On your marks:

Get set:

Go! (See that flash in the black tracksuit? That's Erin Ireland. Remeber that for later.)
Winner! Nope, not me. I sauntered in at the 15 minute mark, only to find that Erin Ireland had come in at just over 6 minutes. Well deserved win, and she got to donate a massive food hamper to the Food Bank.
Just look how happy the dude in the orange shirt is!
To soothe our bruised media egos, Whole Foods then treated us to a sampling of their catered party trays. Proscuitto wrapped melon and smoked salmon crostinis were our faves (trust us, you'll be the office party hero if you show up to the holiday bash with these treats, instead of the usual chips and dip.)
