Did you always want to be a makeup artist?
No. I never dreamed about being a makeup artist but the first time I did makeup for a shoot, Iknew I couldn't put it down.

Who are some celebrities and models whose faces you beautified?
Sienna Miller, Katy Perry, Alexis Bledel, Devon Aoki, Liu Wen, and Behati Prinsloo to name a few.

Your all-time beauty icon?
I'm greedy. There are so many! Love all the mod squad: Twiggy, Peggy Moffitt, Penelope Tree, Jean Shrimpton, Verushka…. I love Debbie Harry's colorful disco makeup. Devon Aoki is an inspiration — I will never forget the first time I saw that face.

In you expert opinion, what are three beauty products every woman should splurge on?
1) Mascara: Most cheap ones look great at the time of application but chip after 20 minutes;
2) Foundation: There are only two answers for skin. You either got it right or you got it wrong: nothing in between. So if the foundation you look best in happens to be expensive, splurge;
3) Eye makeup remover.

What are some of your tips for perfect summer makeup?
Summer humidity can be the worst makeup enemy. If you have trouble keeping your eye shadow on, try a colour shadow base in a similar shade before applying powder shadow. Shu Uemura Cream Eye shadow is my favorite.

If you are going to be exposed to sun and water, always prep your skin with at least SPF 30. Remember to reapply often. A silicone base foundation tends to stay put even with perspiration. Giorgio Armani Face Fabric has great colour and its lightweight formula will make your skin still appear bare under direct sunlight.
